Local Chinese steel pipe prices mostly move down slightly

The local Chinese steel pipe prices have mainly moved on a slight downtrend in the past week, with some prices moving sideways.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have moved down by small margins during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been weak with buyers mostly maintaining a wait-and-see stance. Upstream billet prices have softened a little and most traders of seamless pipes have been willing to reduce prices in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue to decline slightly.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have either moved sideways or down slightly during the past week. Overall trading activity has been slack, which has exerted downward pressure on prices. Traders have mostly been willing to offer discounts, while upstream prices have softened. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.
