Local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly followed a downward trend in the past seven days.
Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have mainly moved down during the past week. Overall trading activity has been at low levels. Upstream billet prices and other raw material prices have recently softened, and this has been the main reason for the soft trend of seamless pipe prices. Downstream demand is still recovering and trade volumes have increased lately. As for the week ahead, it is believed that domestic seamless pipe prices may fluctuate slightly.
Local Chinese welded pipe prices have showed a slightly soft trend in the past week due to the downtrend of prices of steel strip and other raw materials. Trading activity has increased and is at normal levels. traders are mostly unwilling to increase stock levels due to the impact of the coronavirus. Downstream activity has been continuing its recovery. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices in China may fluctuate in a downward direction.
