Local Chinese steel pipe prices have followed a decreasing trend during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have showed a downward trend during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been weak since the holiday period. Upstream billet prices have softened, causing seamless pipe prices follow. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may fluctuate by small margins, while demand may improve a little.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have moved sideways or declined during the past week. Overall trading activity is still sluggish in the wake of the national holiday. Upstream steel strip prices have indicated a downward trend and so many welded pipe traders have chosen to follow suit. As for the week ahead, as the support from the cost side is weakening, it is believed that welded pipe prices may follow a slight downtrend.
