The local Chinese steel pipe prices have indicated a stable trend during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have followed a stable trend during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak since most downstream buyers are on holiday. Upstream billet prices have fluctuated slightly but most traders have chosen to keep prices stable. As for the week ahead, as the New Year holiday will keep trading activity at a very low level, it is believed that seamless pipe prices in China may continue their stable trend.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have maintained a stable trend during the past week. Upstream raw material prices has showed a weakness tendency but, given the proximity of the Chinese New Year holiday and very low trading levels, most traders have not been willing to reduce their quoted prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may maintain their stable trend.
