Local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued their downward trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued their downward trend. Overall trading activity is still, while production volumes have continued to decrease slightly. Most traders have been willing to offer discounts in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue their soft trend.

Chinese welded pipe prices have moved mostly down again by small margins during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been slack. Upstream steel strip prices have lately showed a rebounding trend as have other raw material prices, causing some welded pipe prices to edge up very slightly. Considering the weakness of demand side, it is believed that welded pipe prices will move down again during the coming week.
