Local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued their downward trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have decreased again, as billet prices have softened. Overall trading activity has remained weak. Most traders do not want to increase their stock levels due to the off-season. As for the week ahead, as traders may be willing to offer lower prices in order to close more deals at the end of the month, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue their downward trend.

Chinese welded pipe prices have softened slightly again during the past week amid decreases in steel strip prices. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off-season and the hot weather. As for the week ahead, considering the weakness of both the cost and demand sides, it is believed that welded pipe prices may continue their downward trend.
