Local Chinese steel pipe prices have indicated small fluctuations during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have mostly indicated a slight softening during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off-season. Upstream billet prices have just fluctuated by a small margin. Most traders have been willing to offer certain discounts in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue to indicate minor fluctuations.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have followed a mostly stable trend during the past week, while prices of steel strip and other raw materials have just varied slightly. Demand and trading activity are still at low levels. As for the week ahead, considering the weakness of the demand side and support from the cost side, it is believed that welded pipe prices may show just show small fluctuations.
