Local Chinese pipe prices fluctuate slightly

Local Chinese steel pipe prices have fluctuated during the past week, with prices indicating slight increases or decreases week on week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices are up slightly week on week following fluctuations. Overall trading activity is at normal levels. Recently, raw material prices have risen again after a sharp decline in the middle of last week, and this caused seamless pipe prices to move up again. Demand for seamless pipes has recovered as well. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue to increase.

In the past seven days, local Chinese welded pipe prices first indicated declines and then started to rebound, but prices are still down slightly week on week. Overall trading activity is at normal levels. Raw material prices declined strongly in the middle of last week, causing welded pipe prices to move down also. However, steel strip prices have lately moved up again, leading most welded pipe prices to rebound. Demand has also increased as prices have been rising. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may fluctuate on an upward trend.
