The German seamless pipe market is experiencing a downward trend against the background of sluggish buying activity, in terms of both the domestic situation and exports. German producers have cut their seamless pipe prices by €30-50/mt over the past month, and prices in dollar terms have decreased by $30-53/mt due to currency fluctuations. In the past month, import prices of Chinese seamless pipes have moved down by around €15-30/mt, while offers of Ukrainian pipes have declined by €35-55/mt over the same period. Quotations of Romanian material have gone down by €20/mt. Market insiders think that situation is unlikely to improve quickly and that the weak trend in the German market for seamless pipes may persist in the short run.

German 2"-6" seamless pipes of grade S355 made to EN 10210 are being offered to local buyers at around €850-870/mt ($944-966/mt) delivered.

Export quotations of German 2"-4" seamless pipes of grade B as per ASTM A106 are in the range of €820-850/mt ($910-644/mt) FCA on theoretical weight basis.

Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €500-530/mt ($555-588/mt) CFR Germany, exclusive of antidumping duties.

Offers of Ukrainian 2"-6" seamless pipes made to ASTM A106 of steel grade B are in the range of €715-760/mt ($794-844/mt) CPT, exclusive of antidumping duties.

Romanian 4"-6" seamless pipes made to ASTM A106 of steel grade B are being offered to the German market at about €890-920/mt ($988-1,021/mt) CPT.
