During the given week, demand for steel pipe from downstream users in the local market has been sluggish, resulting in cautious sentiments among traders, especially given the rainy weather in southern China. However, round billet prices have moved sideways, providing some support for steel pipe prices. The export market has been quiet due to the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic worldwide.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,244/mt ($460.3/mt) on April 8, up RMB 75/mt ($12/mt) or 2.4 percent from April 1.
