During the given week, demand for steel pipe has been slack, while rising raw material prices provided solid support for pipe prices. Downstream users have been unwilling to build up stocks of steel pipes, which will exert a negative impact on the market.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,782/mt ($543/mt) on July 22, up RMB 36/mt ($5.2/mt) or 1.0 percent from July 15.
