Chinese steel pipe export offer prices move sideways

During the week ending June 19, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved on a stable trend. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $620-710/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $560-575/mt FOB.

At the beginning of the given week, rebar futures prices in China have moved down, exerting some negative pressure on the steel pipe market. However, since the middle of the given week, due to rises seen in iron ore prices, steel pipe prices have gained support. Meanwhile, the rainy weather in the Yangtze River Delta has negatively affected the demand from downstream users. It is thought that steel pipe export prices from China will likely edge down in the coming week.
