Chinese steel pipe export offer prices remain stable

During the week ending June 10, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved sideways. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $560-650/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $480-495/mt FOB, August shipment.

During the given week, raw material prices have moved up, bolstering steel pipe prices. Meanwhile, inventories on steel pipe producers’ side has been at relatively low levels, providing support for steel pipe prices. 

 

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,587/mt ($507/mt) on June 10, down RMB 47/mt ($6.6/mt) or 1.3 percent from June 3.
