Chinese steel pipe export offer prices continue their stable trend

During the week ending January 22, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved sideways. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $595-680/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $510-530/mt FOB, March shipment.

During the given week, demand for steel pipe has been slack as the Chinese New Year holiday is about to start.

Most players had left the market by the end of last week, resulting in quiet trading activity for steel pipes.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,558/mt ($516.8/mt) on January 22, up RMB 21/mt ($3.1/mt) from January 15.
