The local Chinese steel pipe prices have followed a mostly slightly decrease trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have slightly declined during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak. Upstream billet prices showed a fluctuation with slight downward trend which mainly lead seamless pipe prices to follow. As for the week ahead, considering the demand side may see a slight recovery but raw material prices may still remain weak, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may follow a slight fluctuating trend.

Chinese welded pipe prices have remained stable with slight reductions during the past week. Overall trading activity has slightly increased and been at a normal level which gives certain support to welded pipe prices. Upstream steel strip and other raw material prices showed a fluctuating trend. As for the week ahead, considering the support from demand side may increase, it is believed that welded pipe prices may fluctuate with slight upticks.
