The local Chinese steel pipe prices have fluctuated with uptrend during the past week.
Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued to see an upward trend during the past week. Upstream billet prices and some raw material prices has indicated a downtrend with fluctuations. Amid limitation of production in most areas of China, most producers and traders choose to increase their quoted prices. Supply volume remained weak. Trading activity has been also weak. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may fluctuate with upticks.
Chinese welded pipe prices have seen slight upward trend. Overall trading activity has been weak. Upstream steel strip and other raw material prices has followed a downward trend which puts certain pressure to welded pipe prices. However, the policy of limitation of production volume continued to support welded pipe prices strongly. As for the week ahead, considering the support from supply side and weak demand, it is believed that welded pipe prices may fluctuate with slight upticks.
