The local Chinese steel pipe prices have maintained the downward trend during the past week.
Chinese seamless pipe prices have followed a downward trend during the past week. Overall trading activity has been impacted by public health measures and remained weak. Upstream billet prices recently showed a downtrend which cause seamless pipe prices to mostly follow. As for the week ahead, considering the weakness of cost side and demand being influenced by coronavirus measures, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may see fluctuations with slight downtrend.
Chinese welded pipe prices moved down during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak. Upstream steel strip and other raw material prices have followed a downtrend both in spot and future market recently which mainly cause welded pipe prices to follow. Demand has been under pressure by rainy weather and public health measures. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may continue to see a downtrend.
