All quiet in Romanian seamless pipe market

The Romanian seamless pipe market has seen absolutely no change in the market leading into 2015 as market participants returned slowly from their holidays. Both local and foreign buyers still prefer to follow a wait-and-see policy and to postpone their purchases. Meanwhile, Romanian seamless pipe suppliers hope to lift their prices in the coming month citing higher scrap values. However, suppliers will not be able to raise their offers by very significant margins, given the still unfavorable conditions in the European seamless pipe market.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €880-900/mt ($1,043-1,067/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €900-920/mt ($1,067-1,091/mt) FCA, while 12"-14" pipes are at levels of €920-960/mt ($1,091-1,138/mt) FCA.

Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €870-900/mt ($1,031-1,067/mt) CPT.
