On September 7, SteelOrbis reported offers for PHCC (premium hard coking coal) to India at $202-204/mt CFR and approximately $188-189/mt FOB Australia. In CFR terms, prices increased $4/mt.

Consistent with the coking coal price movements to China recently reported by SteelOrbis, premium hard coking coal (PHCC, low volatility) prices have increased to India and are presently at $215-217/mt CFR India or approximately $201-202/mt FOB Australia.  In CFR terms prices have increased by $13/mt week-on-week. Sources report that the price increase is attributed due to the global shift in prices to China as well as strong demand by the Indian market.
