The European benchmark ferrochrome (FeCr) price for the third quarter of 2020 has been announced at $1.14/lb, unchanged from the second quarter.
The settlement price is announced every quarter by Merafe Resources, which operates a chrome joint venture with Glencore in South Africa. This is the second consecutive time the benchmark price has been announced after the start of a quarter, highlighting the challenging circumstances for South African ferrochrome producers caused largely by the Covid-19 lockdown.
