Today, April 18, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 100-300/mt ($7-19/mt), except in the Marmara region, while minor changes have been seen in prices on US dollar basis, against the backdrop of the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment, currency fluctuations and Icdas’s sharp price drop. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 14,500-15,200/mt or $839-879/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are offering official rebar prices at $940/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S., while discounts of up to $10/mt are applicable for serious buyers only, SteelOrbis has heard. “The gap between producers’ rebar prices and local traders’ rebar spot prices has widened, and so the general sentiment in the local rebar market is negative for now,” one source mentioned.
Yolbulan A.S. has not announced any rebar price today.
