In this week's Turkish domestic flat steel market, traders' hot rolled steel prices have not shown any changes as compared to last week. Despite local integrated steel producer Erdemir's price cut last week, spot market prices for hot rolled steel have not indicated any decline, and the general market expectation is that traders' prices will not show any softening, as their sales prices have been below producers' prices for quite a while as part of their efforts to revive slack demand. In the meantime, some supply shortages are becoming more obvious day by day for hot rolled pickled and oiled (HR P&O) sheets especially for the grades and sizes most in demand in the Eregli market, due to the ongoing maintenance works at local integrated steel producer Erdemir.
The domestic sales prices of traders for local and imported hot and cold rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | |
Eregli | Gebze | |
2-12 mm HRC | 690-700 | 690-700 |
1.5 mm HRS | 730-740 | 730-740 |
3-12 mm HR P&O | 700720 | 710-720 |
The above prices are ex-warehouse and for advance payments, exclusive of 18 percent VAT.
