Price of imported CRC shows small decrease in Brazil

The last offer of CRC received from China by Brazilian importers was priced at $672/mt, against $660/mt one month ago, CFR conditions for shipment to a port in the south or southeastern coast of Brazil, with the SAE 1008/SPCC grade as reference.

Brazil imported 11,500 mt of CRC in September, against 8,300 mt of CRC in August, according to the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC.

The average price of the imported CRC was $692/mt FOB, against $699/mt FOB in August.

China was the main origin (7,100 mt at $656/mt), followed by South Korea (2,200 mt at $715/mt), Sweden (1,200 mt at $804/mt), and Taiwan (700 mt at $769/mt), all FOB conditions, while smaller tonnages were shipped from Germany, Australia and Japan.

Meanwhile, Brazil exported in September 1,500 mt of CRC at $738/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in July.
