A Brazilian exporter told SteelOrbis that a price range of $790/mt to $810/mt, FOB conditions, is the new reference price for the export of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) from the country.

The range compares with $770/mt to $790/mt two weeks ago, in a price increase ascribed by the source to the evolution of steel prices in the international markets.

In July, Brazilian producers exported only 6,400 mt of HDG, the lowest monthly volume in recent years, ascribing preference to serve the domestic market, where demand has increased. As such, prices with the Z100 grade as reference have reportedly reached up to BRL 4,300/mt, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, the equivalent to $1,367/mt, considering sales by the distribution chain.
