Mexican HRC prices declined by US$26/mt in the last two weeks to settle at US$534/mt ex-mill.

A strong influx of imports into the country, including HRC imports from Russia and Ukraine that are currently under investigation, has led industry sources to recognize that the situation in the Mexican steel industry is in serious crisis.

Sources tell SteelOrbis that the drop in steel prices, averaging at about a 34 percent decline in recent months, has many worried that further investments in the industry could dissolve.
