Average export offer prices of Chinese flat steel have indicated a rising trend for some products over the past week, namely for hot rolled coil (HRC), cold rolled coil (CRC), hot rolled plate (HRP) and shipbuilding plate, while prices of other products have softened slightly. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $370-380/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $425-435/mt FOB.
During the given week, although average export offer prices for some flat steel products have moved on a rising trend, they have also started to come under downward pressure due to the sharp decline in ferrous metal futures prices and the downtrend of some flat product prices in the Chinese domestic market. It is thought that export offer prices for flat products will likely indicate downward corrections in the coming week.
