During the week ending March 6, pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) quotations in the Chinese domestic market have continued to follow a stable trend, while overall transaction activity has improved and is now at decent levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

During the given week, transaction activity has gradually regained normal levels as most market participants have returned to the market after the recent Spring Festival holiday. Traders think that China's PPGI prices will indicate a positive trend after the Lantern Festival (March 5) and they are mostly upbeat on the future prospects for the market. However, inventory levels have been rising, exerting negative pressure on PPGI prices in the spot market. Meanwhile, demand from downstream users has been improving slowly. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will continue their stable trend in the coming week.
