Imported plate demand still poor in Turkey

Demand for imported plate in Turkey is still weak. In the meantime, Ukrainian steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works has decreased its steel plate offers by $20-25/mt for May and June production to $575-580/mt CFR Turkey and and another Ukrainian steel producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works has reduced its offers by $20/mt for June shipments to $580/mt CFR Turkey.
 
Bulgaria-based Stomana has increased its prices by €5/mt for May shipments to €505/mt ($646/mt) CFR Turkey after a long period during which it kep its prices stable, as it has managed to fill its order books with sales made in Europe, while Macedonian steelmaker Makstil has kept its steel plate offers for Turkey unchanged at $715/mt CFR Turkey for May shipments.
