Ex-Macedonia and ex-Ukraine plate offers for Turkey have indicated a decrease of $5/mt as compared to last week. In the Turkish domestic market, where plate demand has not reached the expected levels, local steel mills have refused to take a backward step in their offers, while foreign suppliers accept firm bids to a certain extent and try to provide a positive environment for buyers.
Meanwhile, steel plate offers to Turkey given by Ukrainian steel producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works are standing at $610/mt CFR for August-September production, while another Ukrainian mill Ilyich Iron & Steel Works is offering September production plate to Turkey at the base price level of $610/mt CFR. In the meantime, Bulgarian producer Stomana's September output steel plate offers to Turkey are still at the base price level of €520-530/mt ($640-652/mt) CFR. In addition, Macedonian mill Makstil's offers to Turkey are currently at $785/mt CFR for August-September rolling.
Meanwhile, an Italian steel producer's offers for August production RTT (rolled to thickness) plate to Turkey have followed a sideways trend at €500/mt ($615/mt) CFR base level, while a Russian producer's hot rolled plate (HRP) offers from its mill 2800 to Turkey still stand at the level of $660-665/mt CFR, and the producer's HRP offers from its mill 5000 to Turkey are at $690-700/mt CFR. The ex-Russia plate offers are for August production.
