Import plate demand in Turkey has failed to show any signs of improvement, continuing to remain weak. In the meantime, against the background of increased hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the markets, Ukrainian steel producers Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works and Ilyich Iron and Steel Works have increased their plate offer prices to Turkey by $20-30/mt as compared to the first week of January, while Macedonian mill Makstil has cut its plate offers to Turkey by $10/mt over the same period. In addition, Bulgarian mill Stomana's plate offers to Turkey have remained unchanged as compared to the previous price levels.

Currently, steel plate offers to Turkey given by Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works are now standing at $590/mt CFR for April production, while Ilyich Iron and Steel Works is offering April-May output plate to Turkey at the base price level of $590-600/mt CFR. In addition, Makstil's offers are now standing at $700-710/mt CFR for March production and Stomana's offers are at the base price level of €500/mt ($660/mt) CFR for March-April production.
