Demand for imported plate in Turkey has failed to show signs of a recovery and is expected to remain at current levels in the short term. Ex-Macedonia plate offers have indicated a decrease of $15/mt as compared to last week, while ex-Ukraine offers for plate have decreased by $10/mt since last week.

Meanwhile, steel plate offers to Turkey given by Ukrainian steel producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works are standing at $600/mt CFR for September production, while another Ukrainian mill Ilyich Iron & Steel Works is offering September output plate to Turkey at the base price level of $610/mt CFR. In the meantime, Bulgarian producer Stomana's September output steel plate offers to Turkey are still at the base price level of €520-530/mt ($634-647/mt) CFR. In addition, Macedonian mill Makstil's offers are currently at $770/mt CFR for September rolling.

Furthermore, a Russian producer's hot rolled plate (HRP) offers from its mill 2800 to Turkey still stand at the level of $660-665/mt CFR, while the producer's HRP offers from its mill 5000 to Turkey are at $690-700/mt CFR. The ex-Russia plate offers to Turkey are for August production.
