Import plate demand in Turkey has been on the weak side for a long period, while no improvements in demand have been recorded in the market. In the meantime, Ukrainian plate offers to Turkey have declined by $20/mt over the past three weeks, while ex-Macedonia plate prices have moved on a stable trend over the given period.

Currently, steel plate offers to Turkey given by Ukraine-based Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works are standing at $540/mt CFR, while Ilyich Iron & Steel Works is offering plate to Turkey at the base price level of $540/mt CFR. In addition, Macedonia-based Makstil's offers are still standing at $710/mt CFR - all for August deliveries.

Weekly price movements of different steel products in major markets can be viewed comparatively in the SteelOrbis Historical Steel Prices section. Market trends can thus be seen more clearly, while desired charts can be created and used in reports or presentations.
