Import plate demand in Turkey is still slack. Import plate offers to Turkey from Ukraine have softened by $5/mt over the past two weeks, while Macedonian plate offers to Turkey have declined by $10/mt over the same period.
Currently, steel plate offers to Turkey given by Ukraine-based Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works are standing at $545/mt CFR, while another Ukrainian producer Ilyich Iron & Steel Works is offering plate to Turkey at the base price level of $545/mt CFR - both for shipments in December. In addition, Macedonia-based Makstil's offers are standing at $750-760/mt CFR Turkey for November deliveries.
