Brazilian producers remain negotiating Galvalume for export in a range of $865/mt to $905/mt, FOB conditions, unchanged in the last five weeks.

A source linked to a local exporter told SteelOrbis that the price level, higher than international prices for the product, is pushed by high domestic prices that have increased 10 percent in the last two weeks, reaching BRL 5,100/mt ($1,605/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, having the AZ150 grade as reference.

With such high domestic prices, Brazil was a net Galvalume importer in September, with exports of the product totaling 5,700 mt and imports totaling 31,300 mt.

The source mentioned that the volume of Galvalume exported in October is set to reflect a small increase from August.
