Brazil exported 16,000 mt of Galvalume in February, 33 percent more than in January, at an average FOB price 2.6 percent higher at $827/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December 2016.

The exports were entirely by CSN and destined to the US (13,000 mt at $836/mt) and Argentina (3,000 mt at $782/mt), both FOB conditions.

In the domestic market, such prices reportedly remain exceeding $1,300/mt, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, fueling imports of Galvalume and similar products.

In February, Brazil imported 8,500 mt of Galvalume from China at $630/mt, FOB conditions.
Meanwhile, the basic price for negotiations to export Galvalume from Brazil remains at $850/mt, FOB conditions, having the AZ50 grade as reference, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
