Brazilian producers are negotiating Galvalume for export at $920/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

The reference price is the same since earlier this month, the source said, adding that Galvalume exports remain of secondary interest for local producers, which are giving priority to local sales, with prices currently at BRL 5,150/mt ($1,597/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, with the AZ-150 grade as reference.

In January 2018, Brazil exported 8,300 mt of Galvalume, all from CSN and destined to the US (6,200 mt at $962/mt) and South America (2,100 mt, of which 1,900 mt at $885/mt to Argentina), both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in November 2017.

Pressured by high domestic prices, Brazil imported in January 10,600 mt of Galvalume from China at $707/mt and 600 mt from Australia at $645/mt, also FOB conditions.
