Demand still slack in local Turkish steel plate spot market

During the past two weeks, demand in the Turkish domestic steel plate spot market has remained slack as buyers have continued to conclude steel plate deals only in line with their needs. Amid the declines recorded in hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations, prices in the Turkish domestic steel plate market have also softened, decreasing by $15/mt on average over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, market sources state that occasional discounts are available in the market as a result of slack demand amid strong expectations of downward movement in local steel plate prices.
