CRC imports in Brazil remain negotiated in average at $1,000/mt, CFR conditions, stable from three weeks ago, a trader in the northeastern region of Brazil told SteelOrbis.
In August, Brazil exported 3,800 mt and imported 9,900 mt of CRC, against respectively 13,700 mt and 16,000 mt in July.
The exports of August were destined to South America (3,200 mt at $1,366/mt), Belgium (300 mt at $565/mt) and the US (200 mt at $1,293/mt), while a small volume was shipped to China. The exporters were Usiminas (2,800 mt), ArcelorMittal (600 mt), CSN (300 mt) and traders 100 mt).
The imports were from Asia (9,800 mt, of which 9,000 mt at $900/mt from China) and Europe (100 mt at $1,592/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades remains offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,400/mt ($1,226/mt), stable in BRL from three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
