In the past week, average export offer prices of Chinese flat steel have indicated an upward trend. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $490-510/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $585-605/mt FOB.

During the given week, supply shortages and positive sentiment as regards the future prospects for the flat steel market have provided support for the upward trend of flat steel export offer prices from China. It is thought that Chinese flat steel export offer prices will edge up slightly or move sideways in the coming week.
