Chinese flat steel export offer prices move on rising trend

During the week ending April 14, Chinese flat steel export offer prices have indicated a rising trend. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $400-430/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $440-470/mt FOB.

During the given week, flat steel prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved on an overall rising trend amid the increases seen in semi-finished steel prices. Chinese steelmakers have not been so willing to give export offer prices amid the rising price trend, resulting in a supply shortage in the export market, providing support for increases in flat steel export offer prices from China
