Average export offer prices of Chinese flat steel products have indicated upticks for hot dip galvanized (HDG) and pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the past week, while moving sideways for other products. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $390-400/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $440-450/mt FOB.
The new road traffic management regulations in China aimed at tackling overloading of trucks on Chinese roads have pushed up transportation costs, resulting in higher costs for steelmakers in the Chinese domestic market. Flat steel prices in the Chinese domestic market have risen in the given week, exerting a positive impact on Chinese export offer prices for hot dip galvanized (HDG) and pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI).
