Brazilian CRC imports have sharp decline in August

Brazilian imports of CRC declined from 24,800 mt in July to 7,000 mt in August, according to the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC.

The average FOB import price increased by 8.8 percent to $607/mt, with 5,200 mt from China at $553/mt, 1,000 mt from South Korea at $697/mt, 400 mt from the EU at $930/mt, 200 mt from Taiwan at $609/mt, and 200 mt from Japan at $1,025/mt, all FOB conditions.

According to a local trader, part of the reduction refers to shipments delayed from August to September.

The source mentioned that the most recent offers of CRC from China to Brazil are hovering around $610/mt, FOB conditions, having the basic commercial grades as reference.
