Xuanwei Fenghuang starts construction work on new steel projects

Yunnan Province-based Chinese steel producer Xuanwei Fenghuang Steel Co. has announced that it has started construction of a 1 million mt capacity electric arc furnace and also of a mechanical casting part production line with an annual capacity of 2.8 million pieces. In addition, the company has commenced a technology upgrading program at its hot rolled round bar production line which has an annual production capacity of 900,000 mt.
 
The projects, to be carried out with an aggregate investment of RMB 800 million ($127 million), are expected be completed within three years. Following completion, the projects are expected to yield an annual production value of RMB 4 billion ($635 million).
