Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa), a subsidiary of the Russian pipe producer United Metallurgical Company (OMK), has announced that it has delivered more that 100,000 mt of large diameter (LD) pipes for the Central Asia-China gas pipeline project, which is to transport natural gas to China from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, Vyksa commissioned production and deliveries of pipes for the Central Asia-China gas pipeline project in October 2008. Up to October 2009, for the construction of the Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan parts of the pipeline, Vyksa is to supply about 350,000 mt of API5L-X 70 PSL 2 steel pipes of 1,067 mm in diameter with wall thicknesses of 15.9 mm with internal and external anticorrosive coating. The overall pipe quantity required for the construction of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline project amounts to 1.52 million mt.

Vyksa is also supplying large diameter pipes for the construction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, the Dzhubga-Lazarevskoye-Sochi gas pipeline, and the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipeline.
