US rig count drops again along with Canada

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending August 28 the US rig count decreased by eight to 877, after a one-rig increase the previous week. The gas rig count declined by nine to 202, whereas the oil rig count increased by one to 675. The overall rig count is still down by 1,037 from 1,914 rigs during the same week a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 12 in the week ending August 28 to 196, after a three-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 213 from 409 rigs during the same week a year ago.
