According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 55,896 mt in February 2023, down 9.7 percent from January but up 30.3 percent from February 2022 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $73.1 million in February 2023, compared to $100.8 million in January and $73.9 million in February 2022.
The US imported the most standard pipe from Canada in February, with 13,445 mt, compared to 14,437 mt in January and 12,424 mt in February 2022. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in February include Thailand, with 10,618 mt; Turkey, with 5,367 mt; Spain, with 5,028 mt; and Mexico, with 4,214 mt.
