US standard pipe imports down 4.9 percent in April

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 64,494 mt in April 2023, down 4.9 percent from March and down 1.6 percent from April 2022 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $88.7 million in April 2023, compared to $87.9 million in March and $108.0 million in April 2022.

The US imported the most standard pipe from Vietnam in April, with 15,169 mt, compared to 2,349 mt in March and 2,121 mt in April 2022. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in April include Canada, with 15,028 mt; South Korea, with 6,569 mt; UAE, with 4,135 mt; and Mexico, with 3,766 mt.
