Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending December 11, the
US rig count decreased by 28 to 709, after a seven-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count decreased by seven to 185, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 21to 524. The overall rig count is still down by 1,184 from 1,893 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by three in the week ending December 11 to 174, after a seven-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 257 from 431 rigs during the same week a year ago.
