Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending February 10, the
US rotary rig count increased by 12 to 741 following a 17-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by four to 149, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 8 to 591. The overall rig count is now up by 200 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by nine to 352 rigs in the week ending February 10, following a two-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 130 rigs from the same week a year ago.
