US rig count increases, Canada unchanged - week 20, 2026

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending on May 15, 2026, the US rotary rig count increased by three rigs week on week to 551.

The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 128, while number of rigs drilling for oil increased by five to 415. The overall US rig count is down by 25 rigs in the year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count remained unchanged at 124 rigs in the week ending May 15. The Canadian rig count increased by three compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
